After submitting my resume on zip recruiter, there were a few follow-up questions- one in particular stood out- they asked if I was lucky, and why... I suppose this is to help determine a person's attitude or outlook. The english and math assessment tests were basic, and if I recall correctly, they were all multiple choice. They would give a sentence, and you would have to determine if a word was misspelled, or if there were any grammatical errors. The math questions were also basic. The personality test was very conditional, and difficult only for this reason. You had to answer on a basis from "strongly agree" to "strongly disagree". It contained random questions asking how you think "most people" feel and/or behave. Sample questions (not verbatim): Do you feel most people steal from their employer? Do you think it is okay to steal from the rich to give to the poor? Do you feel it is ok to "surf the net" at work? Do you think it is okay to take personal phone calls at work? The accounting test taken in-office contained random "definition" type questions, not so much "how-to" type questions. They gave a list of items and asked if they were found on a balance sheet or P&L. They gave a list of account names, and you had to notate what type of account it was. It asked for things that didn't seen entirely necessary- if you want to know what is on a P&L- run the report. It asked how the manually do some accounting entries, which is good to know, but no of them were entries that would actually be done manually. Most accounting programs do the double sided entries for you- so unless you are making all of your entries via JEs, asking how to make these entries manually seems pointless. I would think that it would have been more effective to test candidates on the actual software program. It seemed that they asked a lot of questions that really would not pertain to what the individual would actually be working with/doing on a daily basis.
