While there were specific questions - I cannot remember any offhand.

Please draw on the white board a hybrid solutions for an enterprise customer that needs to store files online in a private cloud with 99.95% SLA and specify which AWS component you will need to use and details about security, access control etc
I didn't feel much difficulty in answering their questions. Probably this is my first company where i have answered all questions with confidence in which i didn't select. It is a big surprise and unfortunately they won't reveal the reasons for not shortlisting... Questions are similar what have posted in this website. Just look at the AWS case studies. Their questions covers 40% of their case studies. You don't need AWS knowledge. But you need to answer how cloud works and best practices in deploying web applications for higher scalability, performance and network latency point of view. If you didn't worked on AWS then tell them upfront your strengths. They didn't ask me any AWS products as i didn't work on it. But they have asked me all cloud questions in which i worked for(VMWare/Azure/Rackspace/etc).

Describe SOAP protocol.
Imagine that you meet with a small startup company in the early stages of their operations. Currently their architecture uses a LAMP stack with MySQL, Apache and PHP all running on one desktop PC within their small office. Like many small start-ups they are confident that they will be the next big thing and expect significant, rapid, yet un-quantified growth in the next few months. Recommend a manageable, secure, scalable, high performance, efficient, elastic, highly available, fault tolerant and recoverable architecture that allows the startup to organically grow. The architecture should specifically address the requirements/concerns as described above.
