Questions were pretty straightforward during the phone interview which occurred a week or so after the job fair. No overwhelmingly stupid questions which was refreshing. There was a claims scenario where you had to tell them what your investigation would focus on.

You decide a claim should not be paid, yet your supervisor tells you to pay the claim. What do you do?

There were agency-specific questions about federal & state rules/regulations, how past experience qualifies you for the current job application (i.e. communication, organization, program knowledge, use of resources, support to other supervisors, documentation expectations, time/claim processing expectations, ability adjust for multiple demands, openness to change, ability to remain flexible with agency changes, training ability. The "question" is a 5 minute presentation of how all of your skills learned are applied to current job demands and the potential job environment. Making sure to mention all or most of the qualities/benchmarks on the predetermined list that each of the supervisors have in front of them and then explain how your current skills incorporate into the pre-determined benchmarks. For each cycle of hiring, these benchmarks vary in an effort to avoid staff from sharing answers from the applicant (more relevant to internal job applications).
