Recruiter screening call: Why did you leave your past position at so-and- so company? Explain adwords to a 7 year old who doesn't know what it is. Why this position (relate a lot of your past experiences to the job description and be REALLY thorough. my interviewer was literally like "thats it?" and i listed off like 10 qualities that would be perfect for this job.) what would you bring to this position? what is your favorite google product and what would you change about it First phone interview with colleague on AAS team: 1.Why google? 2.what qualities do you think are needed for this position (be really specific, make sure to include something about teamwork here because google loves team players) 3.There are 100 languages being translated on google translate. if google was to add anymore languages, what criteria would they use to add more languages (the interview built on my answer and really dissected it to ask more questions. be prepared for that, have a reason for why would use data from the export/import international trade logs or why would you not include countries without internet) know the industry. include examples of what their competitors are doing Second Phone interview with manager: 1. if you were the manager of the department, what qualities would you use to judge your AAS team (i didnt know the fancy lingo for this, so google what the manager does) 2. what problems do you see arising from (whatever your answer was)? 3. what is your favorite google product and what would you change about it (lol, i walked into a word trap on this one. focus more on the positive features of the product and when you mention something you would change make it something non-crucial), she will ask you a ton of questions based on this one question, like "if you were trying to avoid privacy infractions, what method woud you use?" the manager will dissect everything you say, and make you elaborate. make sure you answer her questions clearly and concisely and don't think you are smarter than the questions. Overall if i prepared differently i think this interview would have been cake. instead i focused a load on adwords which you dont even have to know that much on. blugh, oh well maybe next time google!
