Many of the students have flunked out of multiple places and are not especially willing to put in much effort but don't let on you know that - you are expected to figure out how to pass them without admitting they can fail all the work and still pass them due to extra credit, lowering standards... this is a for profit university folks - they care more about student retention and profits than education. They admit anyone with a GED or high school diploma even if they have flunked out zillions of other places - if you can pay you are in). As a result the interview focuses on how you will help them pass and keep them coming back.
