Geospatial Officer Stage 1 Assessment As a guide, this test should take between 1-2 hours to complete. a) Using the Camden Open Data platform choose and ingest one or more spatial dataset(s) into QGIS (available from https://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/download.html) or other GIS package you may have access to and produce a small scale spatial analysis output that would produce added value to our customers/business. Some examples of Camden Open Data spatial datasets that could be used include the following but other datasets can be used if required: • Planning Applications • Street Works • Parking Bays • Parking Suspensions • Camden Cycle Counters • Food Hygiene • Crime • Street Lighting • Camden Housing Stock Any relevant open-source geospatial data can also be used to enrich your work if deemed necessary. Produce no more than two static maps accompanied with no more than 500 words explaining how this project would be of benefit to the London Borough of Camden? b) Given more time and greater geospatial resource is there anything else you could do to improve your spatial analysis output? c) Looking at the following Camden external facing web maps, briefly explain what works well and what could be improved? • Planning Policies Map • Conservation Map • Find My Nearest Map d) Open the attached excel spreadsheet (SAMPLE_DATA.xlsx) and identify some of the challenges in uploading this into a GIS application and mapping the data. How could you deal with these issues?
