Why Bloomberg and this position?
Describe what you know about Bloomberg.
What is the difference between nominal and real GDP?
Introduce yourself.
Phone interview: Why Bloomberg, why this particular role, speak about a current financial event. Very friendly and overall a positive refreshing experience. Office: Go through your CV (degrees and work experience), why Bloomberg, why this job while I was constantly interrupted with other bits of questions or remarks. The overall experience was terrible. I really expected so much more from such a high positioned company and their staff. The staff was rude, disorganized, distracted, unprepared (they did not read my CV beforehand) and apparently in a conflictual competitive relationship with each other as they would not let each other speak and ask questions though they both had the same amount of experience in years in the office. Even though the job is described as a highly analytical job and they constantly refer to 'the analyst is supposed to do this ..' I actually come to understand that it's stricly an accounting job. The way I found out is when the staff aggressively enquired: 'Why does everyone have the impression that this is an analyst job!!' I felt not heard through the entire interview and purposely and maliciously sabotaged. As much as I prepared myself it did not matter because they did not let me speak or have the required patience for me to be able to finish a sentence. They also asked me a few accounting questions because as I mentioned before it is a heavily related accounting role which should have been mentioned in the description of the job. The nature of the job in reality is completely different from what the job says online. The working hours are quite tedious which is not a problem for me but might be for someone who's got a family at home. The staff works in shifts: 8am-6pm and 6am-4pm.
