The interviewer din go thru the file..he jst went thru the resume wch was attached with the form. So u need to b in a position to justify whatever u’ve written in ur resume…bt mainly they focus on internships n prjct done…suppose u’ve got a gud idea of ur majr prjct n a vague idea abt ur mini prjct, then I suggest u to remove the mini prjct 4rm ur resume..instead it’ll b betr to mention “ undergoing a prjct on <majr prjct topic>” thts wht I did. But luckily, for me he din ask ny questions regarding prjct work…he focused mainly on internships. I had dne 2 internships..one in a petrochemical company n the othr in a petroleum refinery (BPCL) . So firstly he askd me to figure out the differences tht I found in these 2 internships. Then he asked me regarding the wrk I had during my internship… And ya….nt only internship n project…..1 imp thing is there…UR FAVOURITE SUBJECT…In most cases he’ll b asking tht…In my case, I tld “fluid mechanics” He askd me the reason y I chose tht.. Then, I was askd about the various flow meters (venture, orifice , pitot tube), principle of pitot tube, venturimeter( to draw them n xplain) He askd me a question on the condition where a venturimemter n orificemeter r used Then he askd me regarding pumps…different types of pumps.. As I was explaining the different types of positive displacement pumps…such as reciprocating pump, gear pump, screw pump etc…he askd me to giv an example of a case in wch gear n screw pumps are used… Gear pump- used to pump lubricating substances (lube oils) Screw pump – used to pump slurry Then he askd me the functioning of reciprocating pump… Askd about the significance of reciprocating pumps in industries….tht one was a crucial question 4 me since I ws nt so smooth in answering the questions put forward earlier The answer is , usually reciprocating pumps r used to pump small amounts of liquid at high pressure(i.e. in industries it is basically used to pump additives…cz these additives ( eg catalyst) will b present in comparatively lesser amounts wen compared to the reaction mixture…this process is known as dosing)…so u need to tell a reciprocating pump is used in an industry for dosing. n centrifugal pumps r used to pump large volumes of liquid at a comparatively low pressure…( i.e. for pumping the reaction fluids) then he askd me about hw to start a pump (tell about the process priming) then he askd me whether he cud start a pump keeping the discharge valve the answer is YES n that’s all…my interview was oer…  hope my experience with reliance will b of atleast sme use to u ppl….prepare well…ALL D
