Interview 2, Q1: I can't give you the full question because it was based on a picture and some data. There was a picture that showed how they use sound waves to determine how far away something is, then they use that to recreate an image. I was asked to find several values based on the data presented. Make sure you know how to calculate distance from velocity and time, and also how sound bounces off of things.
Interview 2, Q2: The interviewer showed me what the autocorrelation of an array was, then asked me to compute the autocorrelation of [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. He then asked me to compute the autocorrelation of an infinite array with entries populated by random real numbers from [-1, 1].
Interview 1, Q2: This one is hard to explain without a picture, and I can't seem to find it online. There are two lines with an 8-degree angle between them. Starting far down on one of the lines, a beam of light is shot to the other line, and it keeps bouncing back and forth toward the interior of the angle until a perpendicular angle is created. What is the maximum number of bounces possible?
The questions were about yourself or something related to the company.
Explain a CGG technology or solution
Give a short presentation on a seismic imaging technique. (They specify the technique and provide a few resources to start research.)
Give us an example of a seismic technique you have studied or had experience with and any challenges you faced using it?
Two A-level kind of physics questions and the rest were about experiences, skillsets, why you want to take on this role, etc.
Asked to talk about myself.
