They used a questionary about how you deal with people and scenarios at the hospital and then they see how you resolve it. You experience and integrity and education is less important than the questionary. A lot of Video machines for interpretation is what they use on this days . I understand the video and VRI cost $ 0.20 to $0.40 cents per minute. I applied again because is hard to see those that do not speak English well struggle. Medicine / interpretation can’t be done trough a machine and expect 100% quality. Don’t take me wrong Medicine is the best and I love the mission of the Medical Center. I applied again to see if it click to someone in the department that my education and experience is valuable ( I was highly recommended but maybe me having kids was an issue, I was asked some personal questions) . All very friendly. I hope things change one day in the Interpreters department. I hope they get someone that knows the Interpretation and Translation business in WA.
