The whole interview was terrible. The IT Manager went over my resume like I was on trial. Got the feeling he was the type of guy who enjoys the powertrip of his job. I knew in less than 5 minutes I would never want to work there.
What type of schooling/certifications I had.
Looking at your CV it is clear you seem to have stayed in the same position for a number of years, where are you looking at in terms of progression within IT?
Why are you interested in this role? What are your strengths and weaknesses as an IT support technician? How do you stay up-to-date on the latest technologies? Describe your troubleshooting process. Can you give me an example of a time when you went the extra mile to help a customer?
what do you bring to the company
There weren't any unexpected questions in my interview. It was a brief interview about the basics of my position. I had been doing similar work as a freelancer previous to this, so I had no trouble answering basic technical questions. I did admit to areas where my expertise was a little light, but followed up with an enthusiasm to learn new skills. I think that may have been the right course of action in this case.
