Most of the questions asked were standard for a designer position. They did ask what your favorite e-commerce site was. My answer involved a site they were unfamiliar with and they seemed dissatisfied as a result. Also the classic " what changes would you make to the current look and feel of the company" which is always a double edged sword to answer.

1) 30 Min. video interview with a HR representarive of the company. I was asked the most standard HR questions such as: why do you want to change your current job, why do you want to choose Camunda, what Camunda’s product do you find interesting or you like the most, salary expectations, starting day, if I have work permission in Germany etc. 2) 30. Min. video interview with the UX/UI Manager, who would be my direct line manager. I was asked pretty basic questions about all my previous work experiences, my ability to communicate with stakeholders, with engineers and with product managers, why I want to change my current job etc. 3) Assignment (they call it „take-home-test“: I had to redesign one page inside one of the Camunda‘s Cloud applications. I was given 7 days to deliver the following three points of the task: the first pencil draft of my design, the new high-fidelity design and a written explanation of my design solutions. 4) After delivering the task, I was informed that it was good enough to go ahead to the next step of the recruitment process which is a 1,5 hours white board session with my direct line manager and the director of engineering. The main purpose of this session was to evaluate my UX-Design thinking capability and see how I communicate with the engineering department in this design phase. In the beginning of the session I was given one of the Camunda cloud app (Tasklist) with the request to analyse the main user-friendly gaps of the application and to offer solutions for improvement. After a couple of days I received a positive feedback about the whiteboard session and i got an invitation to the last round of 4 (yes, another 4!!!) interviews. 5) The first one was a 30 min. interview with an UI/UX designer who asked me detailed questions about my experience and knowledge in UI/UX design. We went through a couple of my projects and some UX solutions from previous works of mine. 6) The second was a 30 Min. interview with the Sr. Director of Design who asked me about my UX design experience: what is difficult the most for me in UX/UI, how do I define metric success, my experience with testing new design and features, how do I get feedbacks on the implemented new features, crucial mistakes I made and how I solved it. 7) The third was a 30 min. interview with the Director Product Manager (funny title but that’s the way they call it). I was asked most of the time about the way I communicate with stakeholders and the way how I document briefings and sessiones with them. Besides received questions about the process flow in my current company for the implementation of new features in the website (definition of the problem, first draft, testing, a/b testing, improvement and so on) 8) The fourth was a 20 min. (it lasted 40 min. actually) wrap-up session with the UI/UX Designer (my direct line manager). Together, we made a summary of the whole interview process. As well, I was explained what would be expected from me from my line my manager and from the company in general in terms of reliability, responsibility, punctuality etc. In this session I had the chance to ask some questions about company rules. Thank you for reading my review and DO NOT APPLY AT CAMUNDA!!!
