What was unexpected was big O notation type questions. I think I picked up later but at the beginning I wasn't prepped on the material and had to recall for a bit. Also, some other questions were unclear, looked like they were taken form the internet and poorly communicated. The interviewee had the answer but wasn't sure what he was asking, or so it seemed. Most questions were easy and straight forward.
