My manager reviewed the list of skills that I had on my resume and told me that he didn't believe that I had all those skills. This was an internship, but I had about 5 years of prior IT experience as I took a number of years off school to work.

Interview questions were mostly easy – at least for the first two interviews. Here is a sample: 1. If a class C address has a subnet of /25, how many IPs are there: twice as many or half as many etc? 2. What is Wireguard? (This is a weird one – sort of random) 3. If an office employee is not getting internet connectivity – along with the rest of his or her office – how do you diagnose the cause of the connection issues? - Note: This is actually a good question but when you answer it go deep and expect the company to push you further. They will. 4. How do you analyze core dump files? (Hint, do not refer to them as files as the company somehow thinks they are not that – a person can do what they want with the misplacement of facts)
