Expecting the test to be a fill-in-the-blanks style test, I didn't bother memorizing the order in which the sandwiches appeared on the menu. When I was handed a blank sheet of printer paper and told I could only miss 20%, I knew I should have studied a little better. As I watched the employees work, I thought to myself, "Is this a joke? Did all of these people pass this thing or even have to take it for that matter? A simple, no, we don't want you to work for us would have sufficed." Then another candidate walked in, sat down, was handed the same blank piece of paper, and proceeded to fill in the blankness. Glancing over at her, I noticed she was frustrated as well and I felt relieved I wasn't a victim of some practical joke. I filled both sides of my paper with the best arrangement of ingredients and sandwich names that I could remember, and considered myself finished once I could squeeze no more knowledge from my memory. Apparently, I finished after the young lady, and in my head I felt that due to her sex and her attractiveness, she'd probably fare a much higher chance of being hired than I even if she didn't try as hard as me. I felt a little let down that day.
