Honestly, there weren't any difficult or unexpected questions. The parameters for the position were made clear in advance.
The IT director gave me a very open ended question on a theoretical customer issue and asked the steps I would go through to solve/refine the issue and to propose two solutions to fix the issue.

The following are some of the technical questions being asked: 1. Explain the differences between a switch, a router and a firewall? 2. What is the purpose of a firewall and where does it sit in the network? 3. How do you trouble shoot a MAC if it doesn't boot up?
How would you implement X application (to include client-side, high-availability server side, details on the server farms and security, etc.)
