After a lengthy period had passed following my conversation with the hiring manager, I did not hear from the company for a couple of months. Only after I contacted them a couple of months later did I receive a rejection letter and a refusal to provide feedback by the HR manager. Subsequently the hiring manager reached out to me several months later and we had 3-4 follow up telephone conversations with the him where he grilled me about what and who I know. He agreed to take me on board preliminary after a temporary project. Following that conversation the hiring manager never contacted me again and did not respond to a follow up email. Very strange hiring process that is necessarily lengthy and lack structure.
