(Writes name down after I speak, despite references already being provided in application form). Maybe a fair question, though I do not think so. Even if you choose to ask it, not as the first one. Ask about the person, their goals, why this role? Or even just, what's your story? Shows poor interviewing skills and came across as a distrusting/morbidly curious individual.
