I am a 15+ Years Testing Professional (ISTQB Certified) with vast experience In QA & Test Management and I have majorly worked on ETL & MDM Technologies. As the world is moving a big front in Technologies, I have not only completed the all Collibra Certifications ( I passed all the 4 Certifications from Collibra University - Solution Architect, Workflow Engineer, Integration Engineer & Data Steward) but also I am a Certified Oracle Cloud Solution Architect & Specialist in Autonomous Database. I am also a Certified Data Privacy Professional from OneTrust. I was a big fan of Collibra, so I am an active participant in Challenges from Data Citizens portal, where I got a Swag Umbrella as well from my gathered points (about 8300 points as of now) :). I also attend regular sessions for your new products and other stuffs for which I get invitations. Really fascinated with your New DQ Test Drive which I got to do some hands-on. Recently, I found a Senior Manager - QA Position in Belgium and I asked one of my friend to refer it. After few days, I got an appointment with Talent Partner (He was a nice guy!) and then a call was scheduled with the Hiring Manager. She was really happy with my Certifications and she moved ahead my Interview. Next was my interview with two Team Members. They were very Gentle and Polite but here allow me to say - I felt in the Interview that - A tester with Solution Architect Certification was not good. They asked me two times - “How your Certification can help in Testing?” My View is having a great knowledge of the Product itself is a big thing, so Testing the Product will be a bit advantageous from a person who is unaware of the Product! Also, I can train entire team about the Product. So, being a Certified Solution Architect from Collibra went against me in the Interview. It takes a lot of hard work to learn the new things and pass an exam. The guys who were taking the interviews, didn’t even started with an introduction and just jumped into interview drilling questions with a negative vibe . They were stressing what is the benefit of having Certifications and how this can help in testing for which the answer is as simple as - knowing the product better will help in identification of issues and improving the application better. I checked their LinkedIn profile - seems one of them just joined Collibra and believes his old traditional knowledge is the only thing that can help better testing. I wonder how this kind of people even without much knowledge of the product is leading theTesting activities. In a Product Company like Collibra it is good to know the traditional testing practices - which I have but knowledge of the Product is also required, they are themselves not Certified. Even when I asked them if they have any feedback about me to share they said I have a good CV, but again back to illogical thing - “Think what will be of benefit with these certificates”. Collibra heavily promotes its Collibra University trainings, but if a Tester goes extra mile to understand the Product and completes good certifications, it turns out to be negative in the interview! What a contradiction! So, my fellow Testers, please think twice before you do these certifications and apply for a testing position with Collibra! It totally demotivated with my Collibra Journey. I aspired to be a Collibra Ranger, but now I Think what’s the use! Thanks Again Ambarish

Discussion scheduled with hiring manager he explained job details and company history. Good part about all these discussions are transparency and detailing about job details, I was impressed with small nitty gritty details shared by both hiring manager and HR. Second round of discussion happened with hiring manager and it was related to team handling issues and resource management questions. Though I am not get selected but I will definitely look for joining this company in future. Appreciate efforts taken by HR and India Management to setup a very candidate friendly and smooth process for interviews.
