Brainteasers that are somewhat open ended and not well structured. For example, mixing statistics with game theory. Very basic example: you throw a coin 5 times, and all 5 times you get heads. What is the chance you will get a head on the next throw. Ordinarily, it will be 50%. However, at that point you have to question the coin being fake or the game being rigged. Basic statistical questions like review ordinary linear squares, outline the solution, etc. Maybe prove some properties of the solution. Statistical questions from ESL (elements of statistical learning). Programming questions from a typical algorithm book. Open-ended questions such as build a model for problem X. Example: how do you build a model to bet on sports games, for example, hockey or baseball. Some math / programming contest type questions. Consult AoPS.
