There was a general discussion about foreign policy topics which was fine. When the conversation turned to discussion of my CV the line of questioning became aggressive and patronising.
Why you are interested in the role?
All of the questions sounded as though they were selected by a committee of government bureauocrats in the early 90s. They were all un-expected although easy enough to answer.
just asked about your application "Why did you choose this position and not that..." They read your essay in detail too...
