I was genuinely excited about this opportunity, as the company does some really interesting work. I went through the initial screening, where they confirmed they were looking for 4-5 years of experience—I have 6+ years, particularly in enterprise sales engineering, so it seemed like a great fit. I made it to the hiring manager round, where I was asked one question: “Why do you like being a sales engineer?” I gave my answer, but then the hiring manager’s WiFi kept cutting out. Instead of rescheduling or diving deeper, he quickly asked if I had any questions. I asked a few, and shortly after, I got a rejection email. It honestly felt like they were just going through the motions with no real intention to evaluate me properly. If they were hiring internally or had already chosen a candidate, they should have been upfront instead of wasting candidates’ time. The lack of real engagement and follow-through was frustrating, especially for a role I was highly interested in. If you’re applying here, be prepared for a process that might feel like a checkbox exercise rather than a genuine opportunity.
