I had an entirely different background and to be able to explain to the team the decisions I made were reasonable I needed to explain some technical details. The team found it boring.

Nothing technical only process and behavior questions for a role that was supposed to be highly technical. They were advertising for someone with an advanced degree and university teaching experience both of which I possess but we never even spoke about the topics I have published on or spent the past decade researching.

Multiple situational based questions. Some of them were very vague, especially from the peer Director. She interviewed for 44 minutes and left one minute for any follow up questions. Did not have a great body language and seemed reluctant to interview to begin with. Started the conversation " You seem to have a lot of experience, why would you apply to this relatively low level position". Needs more training.
