The IT Director questions were very specific to his/her team, but those questions were not out of the ordinary for a Senior QA to answer. Sorry I can not disclose the specific question asked for me.

What are the areas you focus when Automating test case? 5. Describe your role in last employer? 6. What approach you choose to write test cases for new features? 7. I was given a calculator picture and asked to write test cases for that. 8. A sheet with number for steps and asked to automate that.
The process began with them sending a 50-question "reasoning exam" to be completed in 15 minutes. However, the exam was more of a math test mixed with spatial questions, similar to what you might find on the GMAT or GRE.

The questions were normal. No "gotcha" questions.
