Why do you want this position? What's in it for you? Where would you work (in terms of hours and availability)? Travel experience in the last 5 years? They were quite firm in saying that they were looking for someone who could commit to at least 2 years in the role (which I said I was).

Phone interview - "Why do you want to be a travel consultant?" ; "A highlight from a most recent trip?" ;and "Describe what a typical day as a travel agent would involve?" She also talked about the job in general, explaining the salary, hours, expectations. I was then immediately invited to the group interview. Short answer quiz - Captials of cities, major airports/airlines of cities, transportation in cities (subway = NYC etc.), matching icon images to the multiple choice answers etc. Maths/short answer quiz - scenario about a client booking a holiday with car hire, insurance, accommodation, airfares etc. All info is supplied, you just need to answer the questions using the information and show your workings. I.e Cancellation fees = $50 per ticket, family of 4, how much would the cancellation cost ? 4 x $50 !!! Not too hard :) Final interview = "Describe a time you had to persist over a long period of time?" "Describe how you keep optimistic when you are faced with challenges?" "Describe a time where a customer/client was unhappy with a result and what steps you did to resolve it?"
