Tell me a bit about yourself. What makes you stand out from the competition/what makes you different? Why are you interested in the position?
There was no difficult questions for me. I had been on a few interviews at that time and was used to them. But just to list one, I would have to say the question about tell me your weaknesses. I really hate that one. I use a different reason all the time.
What has been your biggest life accomplishment? What makes you proud of it?
Questions were fair and relevant to industry; nothing was unexpected or difficult
How will you manage the transition to this role?
In no particular order: 1) How do you meet deadlines? 2) Describe to us your process in underwriting a new or existing deal? 3) How do you deliver news that isn't the best? 4) The floor is opened up for you to ask questions.
Mortgage Underwriting specific questions. Very basic (processor level) questions.
Q: What about excess insurance/underwriting interests you, and why?
Nothing out of the ordinary from most financial companies. They do add an online technical test which I found both challenging and interesting.
