company does promote and allow you to change direction and move within; travel is always available; starting salary is very competitive

Cons

very easy to get in a working silo and never get unique assignments; raises are minimal unless you have a promotion

great opportunities for learning, superb technology, approachable management, good benefits for those on travel, most people switch to ABB Singapore,USA, Switzerland, Norway etc. after 5-6+ years work ex. and obviously the benefits there are much better.

Cons

my profile involved 110% travel (domestic & mostly international) and hence bad work life balance, no OT, compensation is on the lower side, only few managers chart out career growth seriously for the employee, not many people stay more than 4-5 years
