Pros

Great coworkers, nice work flow.

Cons

You have to do a lot in an opening shift. You have x hours to stock all the pallets before open, sometimes there are a lot so you have to move quickly.

Pros

This is my honest and transparent opinion on the warehouse environment. -Great pay compared to other distribution jobs. Pay differs depending on the schedule. Everyone starts out on the same schedule, but can change schedules after a while to something that better fits their needs outside of work.( must be approved by their supervisor) -Outstanding benefits if single or married w/ or w/o children. From health, dental, vision, parental leave, to 401K. -Leadership is professional, appreciates hard work, and they recognize it in front of all employees during the meetings at the start of the day. -Vacation time is approved if requested in a timely manner. -Communication with my direct lead has been great. Always answering my questions right then or letting me know later on. -Impressive work culture among coworkers. If someone spills a pallet of product, doesn’t know where to go, has questions, most people are willing to help you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! -Good chunk of OT if you’re into that. -Very fast paced working environment for those go getters. There are minimum requirements you have to meet, which are expected, and it can be physically hard at times. I’ve been in distribution for 10 yrs so I’m used to it, but some may not be. -There are opportunities quite often for other departments, roles, or management positions available. If you are a hard worker, dedicated, and have tenacity your direct lead will recommend you for an interview if you ask he/she about the position. STAND OUT and you will be noticed. -They care about your physical health and mental break. Mandatory breaks, 30 min lunch optional, and they will press you if you have too much vacation time available to use. They want you to use it. Every morning we have a group stretch with an in house athletic trainer. Great way to start the day in a physical environment.

Cons

This is my honest and transparent opinion on the warehouse environment. -Communication from upper management, to mid level management, to warehouse associates I feel can be missed on some topics. Warehouse is getting updated and there has been 3 separate times when I leave work one day, come in the next, and the location slot #s have changed or the area # where your order is has changed and it’s a bump in the road to figure it out at the start of your first order of the day, but you manage. Be comfortable adapting to change. It will continue to happen. -Some coworkers make it difficult when selecting product due to their caring of themselves when it comes to picking. They trash locations, some pick in an improper way, or leave pallets to climb over making it frustrating at times. -Not enough selectors. People call in, people leave early and it makes the day longer. However if you like OT that’s not a problem, it’s the work ethic of others that put more strain on your duty as a selector. Average work day I’d say is around 8.5-9 hrs that I’ve experienced. Others that have been there longer may say shorter or longer day averages. -Schedule new hires are put on is odd, but there are other schedules you can request after some time of being there. There are pay differentials depending on the schedule, which is a plus & minus. -There’s a screen with a pie chart showing percentages and product counts for the day with a suggested end time for the day. So far I’d say it’s been 60% accurate and other times it’s frustrating to see the time of the end of day get longer. This could be due to people leaving early or an error in the formula to track productivity. Not sure. These are my honest opinions so far. It’s a fast paced, production requirement, where every day you have to put in effort. Some days are better than others, but it’s how you as the individual react to it.
