Pros

work/life balance was pretty okay...there was some flexibility there with hours

Cons

It is an environment set up with multiple abuses across the board. Unrealistic and outrageous expectations of super-speed cashiers. The "brass" keeps its' foot on your neck and an ever watchful eye to ensure scanning at excessive speeds that encourages errors and discourages any memory retention. No real "training"...you are thrown to the wolves and expected to pick it up or be dropped (thus begins the "warnings"). No positive reinforcement...they will ONLY point out what you do wrong & harp on that if it hasn't been changed by next shift. The encouragement to ask any question is false because they then label you as "unsure" "unconfident" and "non-motivated". All of this encourages low morale and high employee turnaround. There's much favoritism there and alot of physical manual labor.

Pros

Decent wages. There is a 20 word minimum so I have to fill up the word count, but other than a decent wage I did not see any other pros about working here.

Cons

Cut-throat upper management staff (don't try to work harder than your boss to prove yourself, mine didn't like that), older employees don't have to unload freezer or stock grocery every day even though wages are the same, if your ring speed is not up to standards they will hound you every day (you will literally have to throw people's items into the cart as fast as you can scan and have no regard for damaging or smashing products), if other employees get unaccounted for cigarette breaks and you don't smoke (as in my case) you will not get any extra break, worked with an all female staff besides one other guy and we were treated horribly.
