Pros

The hourly pay. Low cost insurance. Automatic life insurance.

Cons

I Left a full time job after almost 5 years to come work for Aldi and so far it seems like the biggest mistake of my life. The training is terrible. The hours are inconsistent and in my short time there I've already been transferred to mutiple stores, Which I hear is quite common working for this company. Trying to get a high ring speed score? Good luck! Customers will do nothing but berate you for it, ask you not to "throw" the items and still try and get you to bag the merchandise. Then of course become offended if you dont. Also, don't get me started with the carts, its not ok for you to let a customer take your cart but management will give it away in a heartbeat tell you to take the quarter out of your drawer and then ask why your register is short at the end of the night. ?! Im pretty sure its in all those carts over there and you won't let me retrieve it because you're saving the carts for the next day. They will call you in or call you off in a moment's notice. A scheduled day off is never a scheduled day off, and its true you will barely get a break, sometimes even work on your break as well. The physical aspect takes alot to get use to, it's not the worst part but sometimes I feel the bread trays will be the death of me. Aldi: where everything has to be done fast and perfect which is nearly impossible so everything is half assed. I'm about to go beg for my old job back and gladly take the 3 dollar pay cut its not even worth the money. I would have rather joined the military than to have taken this job.
