Pros

Aldi offers a great salary, all-expenses paid car, great peers, simple and efficient operations, the ability to make decisions and be independent.

Cons

The downsides are the typical downsides of the retail industry - long hours, seasonal spikes, drive time to you stores

Good place to work, lots of benefits, health insurance is great and very cheap, good people to work with, I really liked it

Cons

There are a few down sides to working at Aldi, I wish they had name brand drinks and that's about it.

Pros

Salary is higher than anywhere else and it is common that ALDI employees earn more than managers in retail and even in other market sectors. Flexible working time if you are working in a shop, perfect for students or people with kids. Good experience - after working here you are ready to do any job in retail and will know at least the basics of every position, ALDI employees are known to be the best in retail, although you sometimes encounter people who were employed and have no idea about their job and didn;t get trained properly. If you are able to handle the enormous amount of stress it will make you stronger and most importantly you will have a great team to work with

Cons

Hectic work -you have to be able to do everything, FAST and precisely, multitasking is something you have to learn really quickly in this job Bad training - because ALDI is relatively new in this country some of the managers who has been with the company for years are still incapable of organising themselves and working in the team as there were no one who could give them a good training as the company started in UK, you have to bare in mind that ALDI operations are very different to those in other shops and even managers with retail experience have to learn a lot from beginning. If you are a shop assistant and you have a manager that is not organised your life is screwed, and you will not enjoy the work. therefore go to the shop and have a look how it is being run ( it is normal that stuff is stressed as they have lots to do and only limited time) Unpaid hours at the evenings is a normal practice, ALDI will pay you only until 8.15pm and it is impossible to finish everything at that time. Usually you will leave the store at around 9pm A lot of rules that are impossible to follow as there is no time ( i.e. counting the alcohol bottles every 3 hours to avoid theft).
