Pros

The list keeps getting smaller and smaller

Cons

They done care about life events. Want to take my earned vacation for a life event and i cant. Other people can when they want to but for some reason the rule only applys when the manager wants it to. To much gray area.

Pros

The pay is definitely not enough to support a family, but it's alright for a single person. The environment is extremely fast-paced, and management can be tough, but, generally, you're treated fairly. Paid major holidays. All tasks can be completed easily if you have a strong work ethic and a sense of determination.

Cons

A small staff leaves little room for error. One person's mistake or tardiness with completing a task can put the entire team behind schedule for the remainder of the day. Expect extreme pressure to trickle down the ladder from VP's and District Managers straight to you. Expect your store to feature associates that barely breathe while on duty, moving from one task to another with no lull for the duration of the shift, and associates who do just enough to get by without being fired. The work of the latter will likely be sloppy if it isn't skipped entirely.

Pros

good pay, vacation, benefits yada yada and no need for a gym membership because you're basically lifting all day long!

Cons

If you plan on going to school, don't even bother working here full-time... Manager or District Manager will discourage you from school and force you to be part time if your hours are under 30. Scheduling is crap. You end up working by yourself for most of the afternoon on Saturdays and possibly sundays. If you can deal with high stress, be my guest! But after being here for almost 2 years I can completely understand why people come and go so quickly. I was just blinded by the fact that I work so hard and appreciate my success (oh and you don't get praise for ANYTHING, so dont expect it. Apparently your "pay" is your praise). $12.00/HR isn't even worth all the crap we have to deal with on a daily basis. Yes, you can sit in a chair when you're on register, but those chairs are only there because early morning associates kick their own butts trying to stock the store while others slack. Customers will treat you like crap and ignore you. Then complain about you for something you probably did not do and are over exaggerating. No one gives compliments anymore, you have time to complain soooo why not take a second to talk to the manager and tell them we're doing a good job? A little motivation would help us get through what seems like a 12-hour shift.
