Pros

Good benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K plan with employer matching, and paid vacation and sick leave. When company is profitable, merit and performance-based financial incentives (raises and bonuses) are good.

Cons

Upper management periodically makes decisions which affect a particular sector or the company as a whole without looking at the big picture and how it impacts each business, the employees, and the respective customer base. When times are good, moral reflects it, as there is recognition for performance (especially over and beyond the requirements). But, when times are tough, recognition for employee contributions are non-existent, salaries are frozen, bonuses are eliminated, and company-paid benefits are reduced or eliminated. HR department acts on behalf of the company and not as an employee advocate.

Pros

The company has some amazing product that really make an impact on the world.

Cons

Alstom's managers are disconnected from those they manage. Management consists of a high percentage of PhDs who don't understand that some of their less educated workers may know more than they do in their given area. Just leave the human out of human resources (HR), and policies fluctuate with the whims of HR & management.

Pros

The company is in its growth phase and hence the focus of Alstom is shifting its base from France to countries like India (where the forthcoming business opportunities for the company is relatively large scale). Its always good to grow with a growing company. Alstom offers an open culture, you are encouraged to be creative (but some times may feel questioned - but trust me... they question you only to be fully satisfied). I also developed a sense of ownership!

Cons

Not so good Work-Life balance since the company is in the growth mode. Again this factor depends on your role...
