Pros

Alstom is a fortune 500 company with large footprints in the field of energy.It has very advanced & patented technologies to its name. Dedicated work force in the field of engineering makes it world number one in the energy sector.

Cons

Its work culture needs to be adjusted to.

Pros

It is so big people can easily find niches and stay there forever. Not surprisingly, the company is full of people that either (a) have spent a couple, max three years as employee or (b) are there since "the Epoch" but nothing in between (either you leave early or stay forever). I have met consultants who spent 20 (yes twenty!!!) years working there as contractors.

Cons

Full of French politics. All top management is French :-)

Good working atmosphere, international environment, multicultural. People collaborating rather easily.

Cons

Times are difficult since GE acquisition has been going on for almost a year now. Not many new projects, running is a bit hectic and chaotic at the moment...
