Pros

Work life balance. If you are hired in R&D department, then you will never have to stay even a single minute after 6 pm.No work pressure, collaborative peers, If you are on payroll of Alstom, then this is the place where you will love to stay.Good quality food(very affordable),better office space, good brand name.

Cons

The R&D department is small sized and as a part of product development, no new learning would be there apart from Power domain knowledge and some technical knowledge. If you want career advancement then this not a right place as your growth will be stagnant. If you are hired on contract, then you will not get benefits of company.

Pros

Locally a good place to work, professional, high quality of staff people. Even in changing times poeple strive to do the best job bthey can.

Cons

Seems there is a disconnect between higher management commitment and plant operations. Management seems to be focused on non-critical elements of business. Thus the opportunity for GE to purchase Alstom.
