      Good place for technologist to learn but only the highest-level people will make a competitive salary long term

      Pros

      Good technology and lots of promise around the products. Number one competition on the x86 side is still in disarray.

      Cons

      Very tops down with all major and most minor decisions going directly to Lisa Su. Also, the overall compensation is poor. Stock grants are not competitive, the bonus goals / structure is setup to never give anyone anywhere close to 100% and the yearly % increase salary "pool" given to managers are usually funded below the inflation rates. All in all, a great place to go if you want to fade into the background and get a paycheck or get exposure to good technology and then go somewhere else for better pay and more empowerment.

      I wish I could post some pro's, I suppose the product lines are disruptive

      Cons

      Chaotic & desperate environment born from a lack of respect, direction and very poor leadership starting from the TOP down. I would not recommend joining AMD to anyone, too many back stabbers all out for their own glory.
