Pros

Work is interesting and will keep you motivated as long as you are satisfied with just a tap on your back.

Cons

Shares are up, but don't let that fool you. CEO gets 5 million RSUs, an engineer gets next to nothing. Yearly bonus is just 33% of the contractual bonus, which is improvement compared to 20% in previous years, but still very low. Just ask yourself - if they can't pay their employees contractual bonus even when stock price goes up 600%, when do you think they will? Basic compensation is also lower than average.

Pros

Big company so you can brag to your friends All positive reviews are coming from HR or high management to save face. Trust me.

Cons

1. All the bosses performance and work ethics are based on their moods If you made a mistake when they are in their bad mood- you will be scolded and yelled at like you have no dignity. Approvals only come in if they are in their good mood. Sometimes need to wait for days just to get approval on something small. 2. Employees feedback are tailored to your bosses preference. Dont ever think you can be honest and wanting the company to improve. Your feedback will be flashed during team meeting and you will be forced to change the feedback to a positive one. 3. Micromanaging is real. They micromanage you like you dont have any degrees/educational background. 4. No career growth at all. If you stay here for 20 years, you will only be promoted once or twice. And that is only subject to management preference. If they like you then high chance youre gonna get promoted. Imagine if you jump careers within the 20 years. Your salary hike might be more than 100%. People throw others under the buses just to get to their boss good sides. Toxic and immature company. Personally i have no respect for these kind of people who cant even stand on their own. 5. Too much gossip affecting the work. Managements gossip about employees and expect we would just accept all the wrong things said about us. Everyone gossips- but if the gossip became a topic in your mid year coaching and caused your performance to be low. That is.. something to ponder on… 6. Very unprofessional culture in conclusion. Yelling, micromanaging, gossip, last minute deadline but the task given is a lot, invalid reasons for giving low performance to employees (you didnt volunteer enough) in other words- i have never and will never recommend this company to my friends because they will degrade your worth.

Pros

- The company advocates that they are people oriented. In some ways that is true, they say our salaries are benchmarked often, benefits are given quite generously, gifts, events and bonuses if company performance is good. In certain teams teamwork is great, sharing of knowledge is encouraged, freedom of speech is accepted. - OT claim newly introduced in Jan 2023. - Many "co-curriculum" to join and have opportunities to network with colleagues from different teams and departments. - Job rotation opportunities within the company is available.

Cons

- As you progress up career ladder, you can say goodbye to work-life balance. Lack of consideration to decrease employee workload even after voicing out long overtime hours (working from 8AM to 10PM or later) without OT pay. Although AMD OT claim introduced in Jan 2023, we are not allowed to claim it yet as we were informed that is it still in discussion regarding who is eligible for what (seems like management is making it harder for employees to have better compensation and creating unnecessary bottleneck). - Even with high workload and no time, you are expected to join "co-curriculums", if not, if may negatively affect your performance review. - Tyrannical management in certain divisions, so within these teams, there is no freedom of speech. Job rotation is encouraged on paper, but when it comes down to it, they might try to stop you from leaving your current team with fear mongering or even threats. - Management ask feedback from you, but may not even consider it. You are expected to be quick and efficient, but management do not practice what they preach. Compensation comes too slow and ineffectively. You are expected to give more than what you get. - Yearly performance review rating dictates that at least 1 person from your team to be rated the lowest performer, no matter how hard everyone is working, there is always 1 person who needs to take the fall.
