Pros

-Roles that require travel give you a lot of cool freebies (airline miles, hotel points, per diem, etc) in exchange for having any sort of home life. -Name is recognizable to future employers.

Cons

-Salary scale is very crooked, it's common for 2 employees with the exact same education and exact same levels of experience to have very different salaries. If you're working at Accenture, you're being underpaid. -Staffing is a joke. It's your responsibility to get staff and Talent Fulfillment Specialists do little more than berate you for not being staffed. Expect to constantly be job hunting within your job. -There is a lot of politics involved with growing your career. Advancement is never really under your control. Your career counselor is responsible for attending review meetings and stating your case as to why you should receive a raise or promotion, however career counselors have multiple people they're counseling so you won't really get the attention you'd need. Managers on long projects will do whatever it takes to keep you within their project's budget, to your detriment. -Management makes Sesame Street look like a think tank. They often lie to customers and agree to impossible deadlines. I once attended a sales call where they straight up lied to the potential customer about pricing but were thankfully caught.

Pros

- Opportunities to work abroad - Ability to work from home in IT certain projects

Cons

The company treats its' engineers as resources for lease rather than talents or creative individuals. As a result, people are exposed to wired desires and changes of mood of a bad client. In conflict situations with a customer, no protection is granted by the company to an engineer under pressure. The company is interested only in the profit per each leased employee. Mid-management positions in IT projects, such as PM and PMO, are often taken by mediocre and toxic people with no IT education or relevant experience in the field. Those guys usually have little chances to find a good job elsewhere, hence they do everything possible to get promoted within the corporation. Their zeal and blind adherence to bureaucratic instructions create an environment hard to work in. To boot, the company is saving on everything: salaries, bonuses, hardware, software licences, office chairs... Some people say, that Accenture is a good place for a newbie to start an IT career. Maybe, some will survive. But underpaid work for 6 months may well end up in stress and loss of motivation.
