Pros

There is absolutely nothing good about this company.

Cons

I have no idea how this company has the reputation which it does. It is a defacto offshore labour sourcing company. All it does it spend all it's money on marketing to convince everyone it is a great company/brand, then it sells ridiculously bloated contracts to other inefficient bureaucracies/governments, then outsources all of the work to India/the Philippines. Every project is understaffed, never finishes on time, and the people with actual skills (i.e. the coders/tech guys) get paid crap whilst the MD's (i.e. the 55 year old boomers with no skills, who have spent their entire lives at this company), pretend to do work by forcing everyone else to attend completely pointless meetings, which they use to try to justify their own existence. In reality, these guys fluked their way to the top simply by not leaving. I guess that's a skill in itself, because working for Accenture for 40 years would be as good as hell - what a waste of a life. This whole place is a massive boys club, and new entrants are not in it. If you haven't spent your entire life at this company, you simply won't belong. The MDs give their friends all of the work and don't care one bit about mentoring or helping new graduates. I can't believe this company hasn't gone bankrupt yet. If I was rich, I would short this company with everything I had. There is no way they survive the 4th Industrial Revolution in their current state. They particularly don't care about new Graduates. There is no training, no support, and no one actually knows what work you are doing. The distance between the people that make decisions and the people impacted by those decisions is from here to Mars. The people in charge of your feedback/bonuses/promotions literally have zero oversight on what work you do/have done - there is no incentive to work hard in this environment unless you are a complete idiot. If you are a complete suck up who enjoys working with old, tech illiterate middle management boomers who have no skills but like bossing you around anyway, by all means, join Accenture Sydney. If, on the other hand, you are ambitious and care about the future of the world, this is the absolute last place you would want to join. You would have more of an impact by working as a garbage driver than working at Accenture.

Pros

Amazing company culture overall. People are fantastic and really make the place what it is. Great name to get on your CV.

Cons

Disconnect between management (8 and above) and the team on the ground. Often have no experience in the subject matter and have been promoted purely based on working for Accenture for decades or who they know. Resulted in a loss of engagement within Newcastle ops big project. Promotion process is unfair/political. expected to work into roles but will not be paid for it and are unlikely to ever be promoted. 'Secondments' are given to favourites on the project with no fair application process.
