Good people management feels dependent on individuals rather than supported by clear standards or accountability. The values the company talks about (wellbeing, inclusion, flexibility) aren’t applied consistently in practice. Raising concerns, asking questions or requesting support can feel uncomfortable, depending on who you report into. When things become difficult, HR processes can feel more focused on protecting process than supporting people.
