Company takes good care of their people, but resist growth and change
Pros
- Great culture where employees are celebrated - Good benefits - Hybrid/remote work (was remote all through pandemic) - Very little micromanaging - When you're in the office, the facilities are nice - I was proud to work there for as long as I did. - Many employees work there for 10, 20 , even 30 years.
Cons
- Many employees work there for 10, 20, even 30 years. Many have done the same thing the same way for so long, and now they're managers and have a hard time adapting. - Typical issues of tech debt in IT. Senior leadership has let it get to the point where we have old, outdated systems preventing real forward growth, but to fix the systems or restart would cost too much. So then developers have to find creative workarounds that sometimes cause more headaches than they're worth. - People who aren't very competent or aren't willing to grow often stay in their jobs because of rigorous HR policies.
