Cons

The US claims organization leadership is best described as arrogant and abusive. Creates a disrespectful "sweatshop" environment. The "old boy" network is alive and well here...performance doesn't matter; how loyal you are to "leaders" that make snap decisions with little information, and routinely berate their employees does. Enter at your own risk. Invest your career time elsewhere...you only have one life.

Job security good, but undervalued if you work in claims

Pros

The people I worked with were great and had a lot of respect for the senior management. Job security is high and company is very highly regarded globally. Good benefits and they are open to assisting with work-life balance.

Cons

Claims staff are undervalued and overworked. Staff engagement is mediocre. Middle management create an inner circle culture and people who speak up are generally excluded. They can be very short sighted being too obsessed with numbers. There is a very clear division between underwriting and claims even at board level.
