      Pros

      Having worked for the company for almost 20 years, I can say that it's a good company to work for with international opportunities and interesting challenges. You can change career path within the company and be supported in your move.

      Cons

      Career progression can be slow, especially for those who did not attend a grande école. Due to the size of the company, less and less managers take decisions which slow down the development process.

      Pros

      Working in France, there is a lot of social benefits and Amadeus actually tops those up Generous yearly benefit schemes The company tries to ramp up on lost time in technology evolution The company is basicaly a monopoly in what it does so the job is quite stable If one is up to the challenge the carrer progression can be quick

      Cons

      Quite a bit of bureaucracy as with all big companies Technologies used are older, but its getting better Legacy software is difficult and maintenance is problematic

      Pros

      There are many reasons to work for Amadeus. For starters: - Top-class professional challenges - as the leading IT company in travel industry - Frequent training programs, certifications, opportunity to learn latest technology - Above average salaries - if you are senior and you made a good deal when signing the contract - Very well established procedures for everything: technology (such as automation or strictly defined workflows) and personal (such as salary raise, promotions, benefits, etc) - A lot of competent colleagues to work with. People from all around the world who have a lot of knowledge in their area

      Cons

      Due to the size of the company and the size of the data center(s) - sometimes changes take too much time and a lot of effort is needed to implement such changes. But this is also a positive aspect, if you consider it as a professional challenge. Another disadvantage, for me personally, is location - specifically Erding. The company is in the middle of corn fields, and most of the time there is really nothing interesting to do, unless you are an agriculture fan, so maybe you could enjoy all those fields... Shops are never open when I have free time, and everything else closes very early. E.g. the swimming pool closes at 18h, Erdino amusement center closes at 19h, so by 20h - everything is closed and the town looks like Raccoon City in RE. Complete boredom, 95% of the year.
