Pros

Pay is good for SDE's

Cons

When I came back from surgery I was harshly reviewed. After that my manager planned a secret setup to bring my performance down. Even though I was about to complete my assigned work, he assigned multiple people to do my code reviews and as a result my task got delayed. I worked nights and weekends with members of my team to finish things on time but he still complained that I am late. I did wanted to consult a lawyer but didn't had the money and resources to do so. I left the company after 8 months of joining.

Pros

My role is SDE in retail system and I deal with both financial and technical problems. It is easy to see the impact of my work and gives me a sense of self-importance and accomplishment.

Cons

Communication with stakeholders takes up a good portion of my time. Sometimes I cannot focus on tech projects because of this.
