I get to know exactly how to make decisions, thanks to the clear leadership principles. If I am in doubt, just follow them. No one can argue with you on following the leadership principles. Great managers for me so far. Great compensation. Great stock options. Great Healthcare. I love the downtown city campus. Great work-life balance. I work on relativly cool stuff. My work affects millions.

Cons

Amazon products are sometimes, not the cutting edge. They are value priced. Which sometimes sucks as for an employee to work at a less cool company. Some teams tend to be siloed. try not to get siloed. Not as many employee benefits.

Opportunities to do great things with a group of talented and enthusiastic people. Very autonomous, no micro management.

Cons

The pace is very fast and people want to work hard to be part of something, so it's easy to burn out.

Pros

smart people doing cool stuff in a lot of different areas. peculiar ways may seem strange at first but a great learning experience. lots of opportunity on paper.

Cons

1. the constant pressure - not a place if you have a family or any other sort of life. 2. frugality - used to justify being tight, while burning money by not being clever 3. pay - the stock vesting schedule, and the 401(k) matching vesting is designed around the assumption you will quit before 2 years are up so all those promises are worthless. Sadly thanks to #1 the turnover seems to average at <18 months. Healthcare compared to others in the industry also sucks 4. promotion and transfer are really difficult despite what they say 5. outsourcing everything to india... helps #2, but nothing else
