Pros

I worked within the natural language understanding group at Alexa. The pay was great, and I got to work with really great people.

Cons

The problem space was extremely ambiguous, and sometimes it felt like we were just throwing lots of things at the wall to see what would stick.

-Innovation/adaptation of newer ML methods can be slow -Mentoring can be lacking, i.e., lack of advice for how to produce a deliverable while pivoting a research-oriented project.
