Pros

Constant expansion means strong likelihood of promotion Stock value consistently rising 4 day work week

Cons

Expectation of managers to work 50-60 hours during normal weeks, 70-80 during holiday season. Will work one day of the weekend Will have to work at least 12 hours per day Zero job perks, i.e. free food, gym membership, discounts etc. Zero positive feedback, stellar performance is expected. Satisfactory performance is not tolerated. Manual labor required as management.

Pros

Pros Pay (low base but stocks) Benefits 401K plan is pretty good All hands meetings Very good easy to use warehouse IT systems Growing Will relocate you for a job a transfer There are some very smart people that work at Amazon Quality HR team Growing company Most of the the people you interact cool to work with

Cons

Work Weekends Work major holidays Work odd hours OT days and hours with little notice Uncomfortable buildings Lots and lots of people with issues you must deal with No private space Too many bosses micromanaging Lot of young students right out of school with no exp. taxing AM's Lot of Senior and OM's with egos and lack of people skills The stock market is not always reflective of profits or actual performance. Stocks are worthless unless you stay for years. For most, you will end up leaving so this benefit is worthless. Amazon has some of the worst FC locations in the country! Very high turnover. So, Amazon is recruiting from schools and the military No career path. There is a lot of marketing to make it sound like promotions are taking place when it's all preplanned pathways. Limited position grades at FC's FC's at 90 degrees Most of the time, Amazon is fire fighting. Certain people get stuck on night shifts Everywhere I go, past managers speak poorly about thier Amazon work experience. People stay for the money.
