Pros

Good pay and benefits, inclusive work culture, easy to switch roles and teams.

Cons

Growth depends on how good your relationship is with the manager, but that may be the case at most organizations. Pay degrades are the first 4 years. Pay highly speculative on the stock price

The pay at Amazon is outstanding.

Cons

No work/life balance. Always expected to respond to even minor details with highest priority.

Pros

Fascinating to work at this scale, strong focus on operations, a lot of smart people to work with.

Cons

AWS focus on security and operations has gone overboard at the expense of feature delivery, uncompetitive salary, too many escalations and fire drills interrupting the engineering work.
