Being an early hire straight from B school, opportunities presented straight out to manage the team and complex function. Learning opportunity is tremendous

Cons

There is always an uphill battle for growth and recognition. Team needs to work on appreciating employees for the efforts and give clear direction for better results

Good comp, autonomy (for most part), ability to influence your objectives

Cons

Satisfaction/ability to succeed and/or advance in career are largely dependent on how competent your direct manager (and sometimes skip-level) is and how much they go to bat for you. Of course, you still have to be competent and hard working, I was fortunate to have capable and supportive managers during my tenure… but I’ve seen more than a few colleagues get held back from promotion and even pushed out of positions they were performing well in because they’re managers did not like them personally.
