Terrible Boss

Pros

Most people are nice and genuine

Cons

There is a boss in particular who is extremely entitled and there is no wonder no one in the company likes her. She makes it a pain for everyone to work with her. She has poor people management skills. Backstabs and gossips with profanities about people she works with. Name starts with C. Not AWS.

Pros

As someone who's been part of the Amazon family for a few years now, I feel well-equipped to share my thoughts on the pros of working at this global giant. 1. Career Growth Opportunities (★★★★☆): With such an expansive range of roles and domains, the opportunities for lateral and upward movement are significant. You can truly carve out your path here. 2. Innovation & Technology (★★★★★): Working with cutting-edge technologies is exhilarating. Every day brings new challenges and chances to innovate. 3. Global Exposure (★★★★☆): Working on international projects has broadened my horizons and helped me understand different markets and cultures. 4. Compensation & Benefits (★★★★☆): Competitive salaries, stock options, and robust benefits packages have been appreciated. They really invest in their employees.

Cons

1. Intense Work Culture (★★☆☆☆): Amazon's "Day 1" mentality means constant hustle. While this drives innovation, it can also mean long hours and high pressure. 2. Work-Life Balance (★☆☆☆☆): With the drive to continuously innovate and deliver, finding a balance between work and personal life can be a challenge. 3. Competitive Environment (★★★☆☆): The stack ranking system and internal competition can sometimes overshadow collaboration. 4. Bureaucracy & Red Tape (★★☆☆☆): As with any big corporation, there's a fair amount of bureaucracy. This can slow down decision-making and hinder agility. 5. Frequent Organizational Changes (★★☆☆☆): Reorganizations and team changes are relatively common, which can disrupt work continuity.
